Visionaries

What is EVRI Visionaries?

EVRI Visionaries is a student-led program designed to introduce high school students to the world of vision, healthcare, and innovation both locally and globally. Through hands-on experiences, mentorship, and real-world exposure, Visionaries explore how eye care and health impacts everyday life, and how it continues to evolve through research, technology, and community outreach.

Members Have The Opportunity To: 

  • Learn​ from ophthalmologists, optometrists, and industry leaders 

  • Explore topics like vision science, refractive care, and eye health

  • Participate in local community initatives and outreach efforts

  • Gain insight into global mission work and the impact of delivering care in underserved communities

  • Get a behind the scenes look at careers in medicine and health 

  • Connect with peers who share curiosity and a passion for making a difference

Harnessing the global reach of the EVRI network, we empower students to witness how vital eye care transforms lives worldwide. You will dive into the intersection of scientific innovation and selfless service, working to dismantle health barriers and restore sight to those in need.
EVRI Visionaries serves as a dynamic launchpad for young trailblazers eager to redefine excellence. We believe the future of medicine belongs to those brave enough to view the world through a new lens, driving meaningful impact from local clinics to the most remote corners of the planet.

Sophia Solomon

Founding Visionary Co-Chair

Sophia Solomon brings curiosity, compassion, and a global perspective to EVRI Visionaries. Inspired by her exposure to medicine, research, and international outreach, she is passionate about helping students explore how vision care can change lives both locally and around the world.

Her goal: to inspire the next generation to see what’s possible and to be part of it.

Emerson Reiling

Founding Visionary Co-Chair

Emerson Reiling brings energy, creativity, and a strong sense of community to EVRI Visionaries. He is focused on making the program engaging, inclusive, and fun, creating a space where students feel connected, inspired, and excited to learn. His focus: to build curiosity that grows into confidence, possibility, and global connection
